Hygienic Stainless-Steel Packaging Line for a Dairy Product Company

A dairy product manufacturer required a hygienic, stainless-steel packaging solution that complied with strict food safety and audit standards. Their existing packaging setup lacked proper hygiene features, was difficult to clean, and delivered inconsistent seal quality. Since dairy powders and granules are sensitive products, even minor contamination could result in large-scale product recalls.

Prolific Packaging & Projects was selected to design a fully compliant and audit-ready packaging line. The engineering team collaborated with the customer’s quality control department to understand regulatory requirements, daily cleaning routines, and contamination risks within the facility.

THE CHALLENGES

  • Non-hygienic setup with crevices trapping residue → high bacterial risk
  • Difficult & time-consuming cleaning (45+ minutes per shift)
  • Inconsistent seal quality leading to leaks, spoilage, and complaints
  • Existing line not audit-ready for food safety standards

OUR APPROACH

The solution involved deploying an SS304-based VFFS Machine paired with a Auger Filler and Take-Up Conveyor. Each component was crafted with hygiene as the top priority. Smooth, crevice-free surfaces, easy-to-remove guarding, and food-safe belts ensured fast cleaning and minimized bacterial growth. Tool-less mechanisms enabled operators to dismantle and sanitize parts within minutes.

The VFFS system was calibrated to deliver airtight seals that preserved product freshness. Special sealing jaws maintained temperature consistency to prevent leakages. The vibratory filler ensured gentle product handling and uniform dosing, essential for dairy powders that tend to aerate.

THE RESULT

Production increased from 28 packs/min to 54 packs/min

Fragile snacks remained intact due to gentle handling

Machine uptime improved drastically with a redesigned material flow system

Prolific’s after-sales support included sanitation training for the staff, hygiene checklists, and real-time troubleshooting through video calls. Their proactive engagement built long-term trust and ensured that the line continued performing at peak efficiency.

This case highlights Prolific’s ability to engineer high-hygiene, food-compliant packaging systems that not only meet regulatory standards but also improve productivity and product safety.
